cloth diapering

We are officially in cloth diapers now.

And Cameron's rash has completely disappeared.

He's scooting/rolling all around our place now..getting into things (mainly the books)
I love my little man, he astounds me.

We filed our taxes a few days ago. I'm excited to get our return! Most is going into savings, but a portion is going to be used to get new tires and buy cameron the Britax Boulevard convertible car seat..I hope he enjoys it! We tried him out in the display model at the store, and he looked SO comfortable in it.

Tonight I am making cowboy pie for dinner! I think I'll make some biscuits..or bake it with biscuit topping? Hmmm...

Sorry, the past few days have been a whirlwind! I've also been consumed by a puzzle :(

that's the size Cameron now wears. We went and bought him a few new things as most of his clothes no longer fit...

He's such a goober :) We made daddy a Valentine's Day card. Ill post pics Vday :D

Haha..Brandon is a goof.

So today was stress and things falling through from bad planning, but it ending up alright. It's pointless to get into any of it because it was all pretty lame stuff that didn't really matter much any how...but Jenny came over for dinner!!!

I cooked tomato soup..from scratch. For the second time. It was gooood. I liked it and I am full.

Yesterday was busy busy day :)

I had dinner with my sister and her friends, which was filled with awesome food and good times. I baked cupcakes with chocolate frosting from scratch and they were.delicious.

and today was a relax and play with Cameron game.

& tax day as we finally sent them off..I'm really excited to get them back!!! Good things in store for that (like a new car seat for Cameron)

Improvement

Ugh, I hate apartment living..I can hear the family above ours cleaning up after dinner.

I hate that..especially since we can't "get them back" and any noise we would make in rebound would not be of nuisance to them, but to the poor family below us haha.

Anywho, we went grocery shopping tonight and got our week's worth of food for under $30!

Poor Cameron's butt burn is still flaming..it has died downa bit, but he still had a fit over it by bed time tonight.

He's such a sweety, I love my little man...even more, I love his daddy.

ugh, sorry :(

I spent the other night at my sister's while Brandon had a late night with the guys. He wanted to watch the new UFC fight, so I stayed with my sister so I could have fun too! haha

We didn't do anything TOO exciting, other than watch food competitions on TV and munch on her delicious veggie burgers and sweet potato fries :D then she made some peach cobbler that was SO good. I had a happy tummy.

The nest morning (yesterday) we went out for breakfast at grumpy's and I had a delish omlette..that is still in the fridge if Brandon didn't beat me to it haha..we ran over to her classroom so she culd gather things and we ran into one of her fellow teachers who absolutely melted over Cameron haha..he's such a ham!

Brandon picked me up soon after, at her apt. and we picked up bits of groceries at publix as natural sun is closed on Sundays.

We had a nice relaxing night together as a family until I tried to put Cmaeron to bed and realized his crying was the result of an awful diaper rash :( we tried different diapers at my sister's house (and I had dairy) so his butt bore the brunt of the consequences. poor guy :( but it is practically gone this morning as I used bordeaux's all natural butt paste...that stuff is seriously a miracle in a tube.

Cameron slept in his crib last night and only woke up twice...I'm happy he's able to soothe himself and I am able to get much needed rest, but I'm sad that he likes sleeping in his crib more than in our bed..he needs his own space, though..that isn't a bad thing.

Today was a nice, relaxing day with the bambino. Not much to say, only I made the best chocolate vegan cake today. SO GOOD.

Brandon is mad at me because I refuse to take the dogs out at night.

I do my part with the dogs, really, I do. I take them out three times during the day while he is at work and I make sure that they have fresh water throughout the day and clean up after them when they make mess on the floor..and I have been the one to clean their bedding and cages lately.

I cooked, so the rule is, he cleans. I clean when he cooks..that is how it has always been. I even helped him! I loaded the dishwasher and cleaned out the fridge! He looks at me like I don't do anything because he is doing something and I'm online...grr. I did my share! He was playing online while I was putting Cameron to bed...he's a hypocrite.

But we are all at times..maybe he's just stressed at work.

Cameron tried Avocado tonight...but didn't eat much, I think it was too squishy for him.

I have pics of him in the tub after said Avocado and of his teeth!

4 days no dairy

When I say "No Dairy" I mean "NO dairy"

I went out and bought special butter/milk/breads and have successfully refrained from dairy except on Tuesday night when I had dinner with the ladies. I had a schmear of cream cheese and a cookie that quite possibly had dairy products in it.

I know this is a bit invasive and not-so-pleasing to post online for the world to see, but it is really for myself. I want to keep track of the next few days' worth of diapee contents and since this blog is about me also being a mom, well..it makes sense to put it here.

8:30-olive green in color and no mucous or chunks
8:45-(after feeding) more tan in color with bits of apple from yesterday..still no mucous! Though, Cameron DID vomit all of his food up..not spit-up..vomit.
10:30-olive green with, still, no mucous
12:22-olive green, curdy, a bit of mucous (but not tons..)

*I read online while researching eliminating dairy while breastfeeding and in most cases the child will vomit from the drastic change in diet. In sense, it gets a bit worse right before it gets way better.

Poor child is playing naked right now on a towel on the floor..porr kid .::eye roll::. he's loving it! haha

tired.

Cameron slept pretty decently last night..until he decided 5:00 was late enough to play :D

I also had an appointment at 2:00 this afternoon, so I drove Brandon to work to have the car..and guess who slept the whole way? YUP! CAMERON haha

I'm tired.

tuesday

whoo...I am SO exhausted!

Cameron helped me bake cookies and brownies today :) We didn't have all of our ingredients, so we took a not so quick trip to Wal*Mart to gather supplies.

I baked everything from scratch.

THEN, we picked up Brandon from work, relaxed a bit, and then he drove me to my sister's friends' house for a ladies dinner..they do it every week, and I'm invited back :D It was nice to be around other women..I'm used to this constant testosterone jungle that I forget what it is like to even have estrogen.


Cameron was really good while we were gone; it was on the way home that he had a fit. A teeth throbbing/hungry tummy/sleepy baby fit ensued all the way home.

THEN..we got home and the place was a mess :/ BUT BRandon is being a busy bee/loving man and cleaning the bathroom for me. I love him...

and Cameron is passed out in our bed. I love him...

Sweet Potato

Cameron ate his first solid food tonight :D

I cut locally grown sweet potato into wedges and baked at 400 degrees for 30 min, peeled off the skin, and viola! He had noms!

His face said he didn't like them..but the fact that he cried when it was all gone said otherwise.

Brandon is playing Xbox (as always) and Cameron is asleep..I should be sleeping haha.

Poor Cameron had an upset tummy earlier. I think it was from the infant Tylenol I gave him (under .8mL) but he threw up 3 times tonight :/ his temperature is usually around 97.2 but it went up to 98.5..which, I know, is well in the normal range, but it is high for him, so I got all "mommified" and and feeling anxious about it tonight..but he is sleeping soundly in our room right now..

He just wanted mommy cuddles and for me to rock him/rub his back..I can't lie and say I didn't love that moment, but I do wish it were the effect of a different scenario and not from him not feeling well.

I bought a new mat for our bathroom today at world market. It's brown and squishy..it makes it feel more decorated and is SO much better than a dumb towel folded in half to catch our water after a shower.

After we took a shower, Brandon mentioned cleaning the bathroom tomorrow..I just raised a sideways eyebrow at him in disbelief but total excitement..haha, he knows how to make me a happy woman!

He has really been stepping up and helping out around here lately. He even hung a picture for me! It was cute, he got out the measuring tape and wrote all of the measurements down on paper to make sure he was going to hang it centered..and he did :)

31st- Today was a pretty alright day. Brandon had to work :/ buut I spent the whole day with my bambino and older sister, Jenn.

We went grocery shopping at whole foods and the local farmer's market..then we went to a world market that is closing and I bought some champagne for Valentine's day with the Mr. :)

It's bath time for Cameron!

30th- Brandon worked late (as is usual these days) but he, of course, had time to make our boy laugh :)


& we visited my sister Jennifer and had awesome rice/veggie soup!


29th-We went back to the lake :D And Cameron wasn't too enthralled haha

Got Milk?

After MUCH research..I believe Cameron has a food allergy..usually, babies have a hard time processing milk proteins (at his age) so I am going to try cutting out dairy..which isn't a problem as I get tummy problems from milk myself. He has been congested/throwing up/green-mucous stools/fussiness after feedings/wakes up obviously uncomfortable.

I'm switching to almond milk.

I hope that fixes it. Poor guy, growing teeth with an upset system=not fun.

I wish I would have come to this conclusion earlier as for breakfast I ate:
-oatmeal with milk/honey/cinnamon
-coffee & cream
-an apple

only one of those is negative in dairy :(

It might also explain why his growth has completely halted..but then again, breastfed babies don't usually grow much in this stage..


If you hadn't noticed, I'm basically leaving this post open all day and updating as the day slips by..

We (Cameron helped) just baked the best lemon-poppyseed cupcakes with buttercream frosting..SO GOOD!

His teething isn't as bad today, but he is chewing on his passi something fierce!

First Beach

We went to the beach today when Cam and I went to get daddy from work :)

The beaches here at home (FL) are just..gorgeous..it was truly a memory made

I hope his days start evening out so that we have SOME chance of going back home next month for the Strawberry Festival...I have gone every single year since I was 5. I'd love for Cameron to be able to say that...it is so much fun.

Sunday

It has been such a good day.

We woke up, feeling like a truck hit us from lack of sleep due to our bambino's teeth causing him pain...but the day turned around

Brandon helped me do a few things around the house..i.e. hang pictures/clean and whatnots

he helped SO much and helped to get me back on track with my duties (haha)

After a while, we got ready and went to the farmer's market...we sampled fresh natural honeys, all natural soda/coffee, and bought freshly baked bread and veggies for the week.

Then we picked up our groceries at Whole Foods Market and ran into my sister and her friend, Robert.

Came home, ate our fresh ciabatta bread with fondue, cooked cowboy pie for dinner :)

Brandon got home early from work today with a nice (cheap) bottle of white Zinfandel.
-I only had a taste, but it was tasty!

Cameron is getting two teeth..his two front bottoms. You can't see the one that cut any more..his gum has swollen too much but you can see the teeny tip of the one beside it.

Pregnancy pact is on..I've been curious to see this!

Brandon is in a sour mood..RB messed his cage. I took him out 4 times today/Brandon took him out twice since he had been home. He did both messes :(

He had to give him a bath/wash his bed/clean out his crate.

Family Guy is making it better.

tornado?

What most of our day looked like


That's right. Tornado..did one hit? No. How many times a year in Florida do we hear of a tornado watch? Like fifty bajillion times seven each rainy season. One DID hit..just not any where near us. Thank goodness...though, it does kind of let me down when they broadcast all of these emergency warnings and I don't even get a little glimps of a funnel cloud. Oh well.

My sister teaches just outside of Orange Park (more central than where we are) where the tornado actually hit, so she had to gather her class (of 9) into the classroom closet. She said they were in there for about an hour but had a blast dressing up in all of the closet junk (she teaches Special Ed)

I gathered the usual emergency stuff and put it all in our closet (most central/protected area of the apt.) and was ready to grab everyone and buckle down for a bit in there..but then it stopped raining.

So we went to World Market. Yes, World Market :) It didn't rain for the rest of the evening, so I took the bambino on a drive around Atlantic Beach area.

Then we picked daddy up and found the NEX..which is surprisingly nice for this area. We bought nails so I can hang my pictures :)



Cameron is cutting his first tooth, so it took two hours to get him to sleep last night. Apologies for the late post.
