Yesterday Cameron went to his new pediatrician...I was really nervous because we don't really have a choice where he goes unless we pay full out-of-pocket costs.
We live too close to base (?!) to get a civilian pediatrician, so he had to see the one on base.
He is a bit over 4 months, and we are opting for the alternate vaccine schedule, so he was due for a shot. He got examined, which went really well, and then off we went for his HipB shot. He only cried for like 5 seconds and was laughing again..my silly boy! haha
He has already had his HepB shots as they were required for release from the hospital once he was born..I was not too happy about that.
He weighs 16 lbs. and is finally starting to slow down on his weight gain. He sounds big for a 4 month old baby boy, but he is breastfed. I have to explain this to everyone but not many people get it. Breastfed babies grow quickly at first and then start to "level off" as they get older. He is by NO means a fat baby..he is just bigger and suits the average for his age with breastfed baby boys.
Cameron is rolling over both ways, scooting, laughing, saying "ma-ma" & "dada" (eventhough we know he doesn't correlate it to my husband and I), sitting up while supporting himself on his hands, follows objects and deliberately grabs them and pulls things correctly to his mouth.
His doc. suggested beginning him on solids, but I feel better waiting until he is 6 months old. We are doing the "baby led weaning" method where we cook veggies to soften them and allow our son to explore them, lick them, taste, ignore, or eat them when he is ready. I'm excited!
He shows interest in food already when I am eating. He grabs at my food and smiles :)
Today is a "chillax" day..for him! I have SO much housework to do...ugh I hate cleaning up after the holidays..I finally removed all of our decorations and put them all away. Now my husband just has to take our tree down...
